Water-based special effects canvases can be broadly categorized into two types based on visual effect and waterproof properties, as follows:

Water-Based High-Gloss Canvas: Includes both non-waterproof and waterproof high-gloss canvases. Made with materials such as synthetic fibers and pure cotton, these canvases offer a strong glossy finish and high color saturation. They are compatible with various water-based inks, and some fully compatible models also support mild solvent and UV inks. Suitable for artistic photography and decorative painting.

Water-Based Matte Canvas: Includes both non-waterproof and waterproof matte canvases. These canvases have a diffuse reflection effect, eliminating glare. The texture is clear, and some coarse-textured versions are scratch-resistant. Commonly used for oil painting reproduction and high-end advertising displays.

Based on the substrate, water-based canvases can be further subdivided into different materials such as synthetic fibers, pure cotton, linen, and cotton-linen blends, catering to various creative and output needs.
