Daily Cleaning Methods
Ordinary Dust: Gently wipe the surface with a slightly damp, clean, soft cloth.
Stubborn Stains: Wipe with warm water or a special water-based paint cleaner. Before use, test on a small area at the edge of the canvas to avoid damaging the artwork. You can also gently rub stubborn stains with an eraser, being careful to control the pressure to avoid scratching the paint film.
Oil Smoke Stains: Gently wipe with diluted soapy water, immediately absorb the moisture with a sponge, and then use a low-speed fan to dry the canvas.
Storage Environment Requirements
The canvas should be stored in a well-ventilated environment with a temperature of 20℃ and humidity of 55%~65%. Keep it away from damp and oily areas such as kitchens and bathrooms, and avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading and deformation of the canvas.
Before mounting, you can apply two thin coats of natural beeswax dissolved in turpentine to the back of the canvas to prevent moisture penetration.
Precautions for Long-Term Storage When storing, place the painting with the canvas facing inwards and the fabric facing outwards. Roll it up in a paper tube, wrap it in acid-free paper, and then cover it with plastic wrap. Do not store two paintings side-by-side to avoid adhesion and paint peeling.
If small mold spots appear on the back of the canvas, gently wipe them away with a clean cotton swab dipped in a small amount of medical alcohol. If the mold spots spread, it needs to be repaired by a professional.
Avoid collisions and pressure during handling. Do not use vacuum cleaners or strong cleaning agents to directly contact the painting to prevent damage to the paint layer.
